Tension that will not let go
Muscle tension or tightness that does not respond to stretching or foam rolling alone.

Release the knot. Get back to training.
Dry needling in Steele Creek, Charlotte, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. It releases trigger points and eases muscle tension, so you move, train, and recover better.
Dry needling puts a thin, solid needle into a trigger point: a tight, irritable spot in a band of muscle. That knot in your upper trap that never fully goes away is a trigger point. It can cause pain where it is, send pain to another area, and limit how well the muscle works.
The needle often makes the muscle twitch and release. No medication goes in. That is what makes it "dry." It is not acupuncture: the targets come from Western anatomy and a physical exam, not from energy pathways.
The needling opens the door. The exercise is what keeps it open.

Dry needling eases the pain a trigger point causes, and it helps a tight muscle let go. That gives you a window where the muscle moves and works better. We use that window to load the muscle and build strength, so the results last.
On a free call or at your evaluation, Dr. Kiley tells you if it fits your injury. These are the places it helps most.
Muscle tension or tightness that does not respond to stretching or foam rolling alone.
A trigger point that sends pain to another area, like a hip muscle that adds to knee pain.
Post-training soreness or tissue irritability that limits how you train or recover.
Muscle guarding around an acute injury or a tendinitis that makes it hard to begin loading.

Book a free consultIt does not feel like a massage. When the needle reaches a trigger point, the muscle twitches, and most people feel a deep cramp or ache for a second or two. Some people feel almost nothing. You can feel sore for 24 to 48 hours, like after a hard workout. Most people feel much better within a day or two.
No. Acupuncture comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and works along energy pathways called meridians. Dry needling comes from Western anatomy and neuroscience. The targets are specific muscles and their trigger points, found with a physical exam. Same tool, a completely different approach.
